You know sometimes I hate the "modern" super bright LED torches, most of them are way way more powerful than needed and result in people completely destroying their night vision and being unable to see *anything* not illuminated by their pocket searchlight, they're also damned annoying to anyone not holding them.. ok I spent many years using a halogen AA mini-maglite with a dark red filter and covering most of that with my hand so I only got the minimum light out that I needed to complete the task, so I may be biased.. (I think incidentally in about 20 years of regularly bouncing it off things I only had to replace two bulbs, so I'm not buying the led sellers line that halogen bulbs continually blow either lol), but for me a trad D cell maglight is a pretty fair compromise, as much light as I actually need without trying to light up the next county for no reason, that said I can see fitting an led bulb for the cleaner beam pattern shown. If you're lamping for a rifle or trying to dazzle criminals I get you might need a brighter flashlight, but for most stuff, meh...it's just big numbers to sound impressive 🙂 😉

Can't stand belt carry on my surge... and carrying it in a pocket will wear a hole in your pants. Solution - pocket clip from Amazon. Haven't looked back...

Yeah mine was like how you demonstrated. Then nothing was going thru at all and I couldn't empty my lungs. Then I blew on the out end and now smoke comes pouring out. It's fucked. Probably my fault but I have no clue how it got blocked after 5 exhales.

Avoid this product like the plague. It literally didn't even last 1 single day. Massive waste of money. Just use a toilet paper roll. This product has extreeeeme clogging issues. I cant even blow air through it after about a hundred puffs with an e-cigg. Ive never even used it for actual smoke and it STILL wont last me a single day.... Unfortunately, my family keeps gifting these pieces of crap to me on the holidays. They NEVER last me a full day. They are AWEFUL.

You forgot to mention the switch on the side, there are batteries inside. I opened mine to change them and kinda f*ck up the inside). I think its for the tiny light near the fold on top.

I have a SOG multitool, it's basic, compact and very solid. It doesn't fold it's just a small plier with a couple of blades and a belt clip. I've used it as a little hammer and the dings in the side add character. I consider it indestructible so simple and solid it is.

They aren't bright, but maglights are durable, and reliable, I can not tell you how many led lights I have had break on me, and when a mag light runs out of power, it stops, or noticably dims, but led lights tease you buy acting broken, when they just neeed a new battery.

One one hand, for regular use, I keep a SuperTool in a kitchen drawer. With my bad back especially, when I went on vacation, I put that tool in my luggage, because I could manage my luggage weight better overall that way. But one the other hand, I also have a Surge. I am excited about that, with all its almost unlimited possibilities. I am excited about those possibilities just in case something goes really sideways in society, such as a tornado. I keep the Surge with other emergency supplies in my car trunk.

My screw on bulb retainer wouldn't screw back on. I think it's because I ordered the bulbs from a Chinese vendor. Maybe led bulbs from a american vendor that said mag lights right on the package will fit.

I got the older Li'l Friend Arrowhead on my keys and I love it. The rattle also doesn't annoy there, as the keys and such make more noise anyways. That version is skeletonized so I paracord wrapped it and also made a snake knot at the end, just a tad shorter though. Feels much better when your pinky got the snake know to grab and feel.

I am sick and tired of seeing all the mags on youtube as a 22lr or 22 long or even a 22 short are just fine, mag is a waste of money!

Your a dummy! I like tehe NAA plastic grip/holster that blocks the trigger! I personally like mine and it clios on a pocket ir waistband! Also give more of a realistic feel as far as grip and makes it much easier to shoot! I haven't taken it iff since i put it on! Great lil upgrade

As a young cop in the 1970s, I have many memories of 3, 4 & 5 cell Mag-Lites but as I maturated, my flashlight got shorter and shorter until I finally retired.

I can't believe you'd recommend such a useless tool. The handles slide, not allowing you to torque down on the pliers... use a screw driver to aggressively...strip the screws keeping the tool together strip and pull apart, it's literally trash.

Those LED drop ins (and the ones from Terralux) were surpassed in around 2008 when Seoul Semi Conducters P7 quad emitters (capable of approximately 900lm) arrived on the modding scene, Maglites make excellent hosts for such DIY modifications and the light I built way back in 2010 is still working great (and in use) in 2023 👍
